According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there are 553,000 plastic surgery procedures on Hispanics in 2004, up 49% from 2000, 461,000 procedures on African-Americans in 2004, up 24% from 2000, and 276,000 procedures on Asian-Americans in 2004, up 24% from 2000.

A tummy tuck is suitable for both men and women who are in good general health overall.

A tummy tuck should not be confused with a liposuction (the cosmetic surgery used to remove fat deposits), although your surgeon may elect to perform liposuction as part of a tummy tuck. Women who have muscles and skin stretched by multiple pregnancies may find the procedure useful.

Statistics show that breast augmentation was the number one surgical cosmetic procedure for females in 2005 with 291,350 procedures performed. Right behind breast augmentation was liposuction with 287,932 procedures performed, nose reshaping with 198,732 procedures performed, eyelid surgery with 197,709 procedures performed, and the number five plastic surgery procedure for females in 2005 was tummy tucks with 128,874 procedures performed.

The number one plastic surgery procedure for males in 2005 was nose reshaping.

Statistics show that nose reshaping was the number one surgical cosmetic procedure for males in 2005 with 99,680 procedures performed. Right behind nose reshaping was hair transplantation with 39,244 procedures performed, liposuction with 35,673 procedures performed, eyelid surgery with 32,988 procedures performed, and the number five plastic surgery procedure for males in 2005 was breast reduction with 16,275 procedures performed.

Statistics show that botox injections were the number one minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure in 2005 with 3.8 million procedures performed. Right behind botox injections were chemical peels with 1 million procedures performed, micodermabrasion with 838,000 procedures performed, laser hair removal with 783,000 procedures performed, and the number five minimally-invasive cosmetic procedure in 2005 was sclerotherapy with 590,000 procedures performed.

The most popular plastic surgery procedures for patients that were 18 years of age or younger in 2005 included ear surgery with 13,714 procedures performed, nose reshaping with 47,396 procedures performed, chemical peels with 101,286 surgerys performed, laser hair removal with 49,573 procedures performed, and microdermabrasion with 63,256 procedures performed.

1.5 million plastic surgery procedures were performed on patients between 19 and 50 years of age in 2005.

The most popular plastic surgery procedures for patients that were between 19 and 50 years of age included breast augmentation with 142,072 procedures performed, liposuction with 89,168 procedures performed, nose reshaping with 121,042 procedures performed, botox injections with 328,313 procedures performed, and laser hair removal with 287,002 procedures performed.

2.9 million plastic surgery procedures were performed on patients that were 51 years of age or older.

The most popular plastic surgery procedures for patients that were 51 years of age or older included eyelid surgery with 111,759 procedures performed, botox injections with 1.1 million procedures performed, chemical peels with 407,447 procedures performed, microdermabrasion with 222,250 procedures performed, sclerotherapy with 181,909 procedures performed, and facelifts with 65,208 procedures performed.
